The International program in Migration Studies is an interdisciplinary one-year MA program taught in English that aims at offering students a comprehensive look into the global and local issues of migration.

In the field of migration, the University is home to a prominent group of scholars whose work is recognized internationally through such volumes as Russian Jews on Three Continents: Migration and Resettlement, which studied the mass migration from the former USSR; Children of Circumstances, on Israeli migrants in the United States; and Immigration and Nation Building, a comparative study of Israel and Australia. Additionally, the expertise of faculty members is called upon by national and local government agencies in developing migration and integration policies and to evaluate intervention projects. Members of the faculty are also closely affiliated with civil society organizations and serve on the boards of or hold advisory roles at NGOs that work to improve the conditions of immigrant populations, such as foreign laborers and refugees.

Led by our exceptional professors, this program seeks to provide students with the theories, tools and experience first hand to pursue careers in various fields including public policy, international affairs, politics, research, academia, and non-profits. This international program is an opportunity to be part of a diverse student body that in itself provides a platform for different local knowledge and experiences to converge and create a unique environment for learning.

About the Gershon H. Gordon Faculty of Social Sciences

The Social Sciences study collective aspects of the human experience as revealed in culture and the many forms of social organization. Since its founding in 1964, the Faculty of Social Sciences at Tel Aviv University set itself the goal of furthering our understanding of social forms in general and of Israeli society in particular.
