Undergraduate Studies:
The goal of the studies is to introduce students to the mindset and research tools in sociology and anthropology. The curriculum includes in-depth understanding of the leading social science theories, qualitative and quantitative research methods characteristic of these sciences, with special emphasis on in-depth analysis of Israeli society and its diverse relationships and groups. Students acquire analytical skills, critical investigative ability, and the necessary tools to grapple with the major in-depth problems that concern social researchers in the present time. In its advanced stages, the program's intent is to provide students with the basis for further study and advanced degrees.
Graduate Studies:
The MA program provides a deeper knowledge in theory and research methods. The program develops the students' analytical thinking and research abilities. The students' sensitivity to central problems in Israeli society with all its diversity and aspects is also fostered. The program prepares students for PhD Studies and gives adequate training for those interested in joining various professional fields as sociologists including social policy and public opinion studies.
Social Change Organizations: The Department offers a special track for the Master's degree in the study of Social Change Organizations. This track is intended for students active or wishing to become active in organizations for social change, associations, environmental organizations, human rights organizations, etc. The aim of these studies is to provide broad knowledge and understanding of civil society and its status in relation to the market and the state. The program offers practical training in cooperation with "Shatil". The number of places is limited. Please register early.
