Admission for the MA

1. Applications will be considered from candidates who have completed a BA degree at an accredited university with a grade of at least 85.

2. Candidates should submit:

a. A declaration of intention (no longer than one page) containing biographic, professional and academic background, detailing academic fields of interest.

b. A letter of recommendation from a teacher in the Department in which he or she studied for the first degree. Please use the form "Recommendation for the Master's Degree" which can be downloaded from the website of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. The letter of recommendation should be submitted directly to the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Tel Aviv University by the teacher writing the recommendation, as detailed in the form.

The letter of recommendation and declaration of intention will be weighed up in the decision to accept the candidate in addition to the minimum grade required. Priority will be given to those wishing to study sociology and anthropology.

3. Students who completed their BA studies outside the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Tel Aviv University will be required to participate in supplementary studies at the discretion of the MA studies advisor. Students who have not studied statistics and quantitative research methods at the BA level will be required to take supplementary courses in these subjects. These supplementary courses will not count as coursework for the second degree.
